some times you gotta say what the fuck

I was going to publish a video from the band I went to see the other night.  Show was so awesome.  I think I saw a couple having sex while standing.  Not sure if it was the music that did it,  but they must have been way into it. 
On another note, I wanted all my friends there.  To just kick it and rock out.  This was supposed to be the band I saw the other night but I saw this on youtube instead.  Oh well.  Laughing rather than being emo.

Hug the close ones

Susan Spitz was my first love. I was crazy about her and she just wanted to be friends for like the first year. Eventually I was persuasive enough, we ran around after school and youth group, and I well remember posing for prom night pictures while Maggot and Harsh Lipton clowned us in the driveway. We saw Fishbone together. And went camping for the first time. She warmed the chambers of the hearts of more than one EV'er, that's a fact. We stayed close as our lives took different turns, and she stayed up in Virginia after college.

She lived in recent years with a really tough, debilitating pain from an accident that left her arm paralyzed. She took her life Friday night. I don't know how to imagine her not around. We stayed in touch all these years, but sometimes the pauses got too long. I hate that I hadn't called her more recently, or sent a note. Hard as we try, it's tough to avoid the regrets.

So here is to the hurt we can't always see. She was one of the all time greats. It will be hard to figure out how to miss her. I loved her about as deeply as a person can. Do you ever really get over that? Why would you want to?

Fletch was out here for a couple weeks, doing his part to save our storm damaged patrimony. Our tax dollars at work. Despite all the bullshit and the boneheads, it's good to see him working hard to do the right thing. And I got a ton of free bag lunches that were too gross for him to eat. Mmmmm...soggy tortilla filled with day old cream cheese. This one is from his dirty 40. Above the Dirty Dancing village.

Seldom and the Mace made it out to Brooklyn for some R and R. Be careful, he's got a whole set of twig tools for any problems that may arise. Good to know he still remembers where his junk is.

Life with Baby pt.2

Little Opal is approaching the 9 month mark. To date she has 2 sold bottom front teeth and 2 top fronts that making for some restless nights. She is a crawling bandit and very eager to stand. She'll probably taking steps by Thanksgiving. Amazing. 

Opal is a funny little girl. She is a very happy baby and loves playing jokes on both Blaker's and I. For me, she instigates the game of surprise and for momma she give zorbert's while nursing. She thinks it's the funniest thing.

When it comes to activities, she is quick to remember places we visited before. If we go to the bog garden where there are many ducks, she starts shaking and making ooohhhh sounds where we have seen ducks before. She loves dogs and laughs a lot when she see them. And, No, we are not getting a puppy.

Wp planned a trip to the outer banks .He was out there all week working . I met him on thursday .I rode g-boro to wilmington (grabbed my surfboard),wilmington to cedar island ferry,took the ferry to ocracoke  and a 2nd ferry to hatterass where i rode up to nags head to meet wp(long day).  hurricane / tropical storm was off shore kicking up a good swell . We caught some tasty waves and had a good ole time.I look forward to another trip hoping another storm will brew up off shore and deliver the goods
