Life with Baby pt.2

Little Opal is approaching the 9 month mark. To date she has 2 sold bottom front teeth and 2 top fronts that making for some restless nights. She is a crawling bandit and very eager to stand. She'll probably taking steps by Thanksgiving. Amazing.

Opal is a funny little girl. She is a very happy baby and loves playing jokes on both Blaker's and I. For me, she instigates the game of surprise and for momma she give zorbert's while nursing. She thinks it's the funniest thing.

When it comes to activities, she is quick to remember places we visited before. If we go to the bog garden where there are many ducks, she starts shaking and making ooohhhh sounds where we have seen ducks before. She loves dogs and laughs a lot when she see them. And, No, we are not getting a puppy.

TOSHIO HERO

My buddy Mike Kepka is an awesome photographer at the SF Chronicle, and if you live in the city or frequent sfgate.com you might be a fan of his column The City Exposed. If not, get with it. One of his latest is a profile of former Amnesia star and anomalous channeler of Jimmie Rodgers, Toshio Hirano. Get with this. Both of them, the real deal.

Music on Radar's radar

As I ponder whether or not I have time or the will to start a music blog as my input on this one has suffered drastically, I did want to share some of my latest jams with folks. I hop you guys like them.

The Amazing are a Swedish band that were members of a band called Dungen. This track is off their latest record.

Taken by Trees is another Swedish band that is basically on person, Victoria Bergsman. On this record she went to Pakistan to record.

Passion Pit's newest record is impossible for me to visualize making. This song is a great example. My brain just can conceptualize making this song. The video is distraction though.

Another goddamn Swede. Tallest Man on Earth.

From Oxnard CA, Catwalk are on the new up and coming label Captured Tracks. The label is pretty much a shoegaze revivalist record label. So, I love it.

Hope a track or two strikes your fancy.

YOUR FIRST AND THIRD HOMIESEXUAL EXPERIENCE

I found this looking around on youtube if you haven't seen it. Hung out with Matt Houston last week, it was great to see him. He regaled us with tales of his recent bass acquisitions. Good to see him on the Rickenbacker. Flannery on the skins, Nikki and Art repping as well. Good times, great oldies.
